If you know some words that may appear in the topics you want, just type them all into the search field in any order:

If you know exact phrases that appear in the topics you want, get more precise results by enclosing the phrases within quotation marks:

If some keywords are very important to the search, and other keywords might or might not be in the topics you want, precede the important ones with a plus sign:

If you do a search and receive a lot of matches that you do not want, try and find words that are in these unwanted topics and include them as search words, preceded by minus signs.

If you want to look up information about a statement or command in the SQL Reference or Command Reference, include one of the subheadings as a search term:

Choosing What to Search

You can search through all of the information, or search only a subset of the information:

• The most frequently used books, such as the SQL Reference and Command Reference
• General categories of books, such as the administration books or programming books. To see which books are considered administration, programming, installation, or connectivity, see the DB2 List of Books.
• The online help for the Control Center.

Troubleshooting Search Problems

• Before you can search, the Search server must be installed and running on your machine. Usually, the Search server is configured for you during installation.
• You must install the appropriate set of HTML books for links in the search results list to work.
• Because not all books are translated for each language, you might need to search both the English and translated books to find all the occurrences of a search term.
